6 Countries in 14 Days

My mom, Tami and I just got back from a cruise of a lifetime. Two weeks together on a ship on fast forward seeing so much only digital photos and recorded video will remind us of those experiences. Making videos is one of my hobbies very similar to others liking to draw or listening to music.

We visited Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, and Malta with each having its own distinct language, culture, transportation and attractions.  We truly enjoyed spending time together as well as learning about what the other side of the globe has to offer.

Check out this video that shares 14 days, 6 countries, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Doug, What a great video. Your mom is hilarious. So sorry you were on a sick ship. Apparently it is happening all too often. This was a whirlwind schedule and the photos were wonderful. Thanks for sharing that.

    Hi Doug-
I love the picture that you were lifting the pyramids…!
Your mon is also a good negotiator of the carpet. Thank you.

Doug, I see tourist traps make tours a real annoyance. We experienced the same thing in Hawaii when traveling up to Mt. Haleakula, the volcano where Star Wars was filmed. This was years ago, but same thing; ride the bus, stop for lunch and a huge allowance of time to be ‘SOLD” anything your heart desires. Same thing coming down. sometimes I think a self-guided tour or one done with Go Vacations, like the one we had in Italy, are much better. The guide stays with you and knows how to avoid the traps. I’m glad you enjoyed your time with your Mom. Those moments are irreplaceable.

Looks like a great trip. Sorry to hear about the problems you had.

Nice job on the video, btw. What did you use to put it together? The moving map and the scrapbook feature were neat.

Great memories indeed. Turkish carpet or health insurance….I like that!
    Thanks sharing, Doug.

Love it! Your mom is a sweetie. Have to say I was really laughing at the end–Turkish carpet salesmen remind me of the market in Marakesh. Did they offer you green tea. If so, NEVER take it. Shades of 300 people with a virus. You are really incredible. When is your next vacation?

I’m so glad you all liked the video. I try to add some personal stories every now and then and so happy everyone enjoyed it.

My mom got over the illness in a couple days and it was my time to take care of her. She is just as crazy as I am sometimes.

I used the Mac software iMovie to make it. It included all the sounds, transitions, and everything else. I just plugged in the pictures and movies.

Joe, I’ve been on tours like that before and you can smell the greed from a mile away.

Dawn, my mom spent more time shopping in the gift shop than seeing attractions. Does that sound familiar?

Keith, I’d rather have health insurance :)

Pat, we didn’t drink the green tea but I did buy some Absinthe and had some really crazy nightmares.

Central or South America is next on the list.

    Hi Doug

What fun seeing you on your many travels. I made almost the same cruise a few years ago. It definitely brought back a lot of memories even the carpet shop…lol.
