A highly respected individual in the real estate education area once told me “People are willing to pay for education but are not willing to receive it.” How many classes have you taken that you remember paying for but don’t remember what was covered? Regulation mandates real estate agents to take a requirement number of classes during a specific time frame. The more the agent knows the better job the agent can do for his/her client(s). Required education is absolutely necessary to keep professionals up to date on new policies, license laws, and standards of practice. Taking classes means paying tuition. This is true in not only real estate but other industries, universities, and professional training. How many of those that take continuing education are taking for the purposes of keeping their license vs. learning how to serve their clients better?
