Hooray! I am officially GREEN!

I finished the two day intense GREEN building designation course of the National Association of REALTORS and it was the MOST beneficial use of my time and money. I learned so much in so little time I felt like I was ready to poop green when we were done. I chose to do the one day residential elective instead of the commercial or rental property specific elective.

Don’t hate on me but I never did recycled at home before and now I am addicted to the cause. I went to the website of my local trash waste service, printed out the list of recyclable materials, called for the little sticker you can put on your container, and started to stock pile all of the bottles, cans, newspapers… anything thing I could. You know you are addicted to recycling when you are ready to pitch something and you check the list on the refrigerator first to see what can be recycled and what cannot. Now 2/3rds of my garbage is now recycled… but I need to find a bigger trash can.

Oh, and another thing. You can’t say you truly live the green lifestyle if you carry around plastic disposable water bottles. One of my friends told me about the BRITA. I was always afraid of the BRITA but I am over it now. I can’t believe how much more water I drink (which is good for you anyway) and I don’t impact the environment at all except the fact that my refrigerator is plugged in to cool the BRITA if you want to be too technical.
