This last week I was able to capture some really cool videos from my travels with the iPhone that I was able to upload to social media sites like Twitter and YouTube. It first started out at the Texas Association of REALTORS® Convention 2009 where I sat with Bob Hale, CEO of the Houston Association of REALTORS® and he asked me to help him with his iPhone and uploading videos to YouTube.
He had taken a video of Shad Bogany, a member of the Houston Association of REALTORS® where he was running for Treasurer Elect of the Texas Association of REALTORS® and wanted to upload it to YouTube. Within seconds, we created a Bob Hale YouTube video channel and had Shad’s video on YouTube without having to access a computer.
Next, I mentioned to Bob that we could upload his video he had taken from his iPhone to Twitter. We quickly added the TweetDeck iPhone for him to manage his Tweets and TwitVid application so he could share the video on Twitter. Within minutes we had the video on Twitter marked with the #trcon communication channel so those who were at the convention could be notified.
Here is the link to the Twitvid page of the video which can also be embedded into a website or blog.
I left Tuesday for the Nebraska REALTORS® Convention and on my way from the hotel to the airport I received a ride from the Dallas Karaoke cab. A dream come true… I got a chance to sing Kool and the Gang’s “Celebration” on my way to the airport where the driver sang back up.
He almost ran a red light.
The point of the whole story is that you can share videos right from your iPhone to YouTube and Twitter within minutes of recording from anywhere which saves money, time, and gives you the ability to share magical moments using social media.
