Well… what happens in Vegas stays on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, SlideShare and YouTube. Four days full of fun in the city that doesn’t sleep to share some more social media strategies with the Greater Las Vegas Association of REALTORS® and their members.
We arrived on Wednesday night and hit up the REBlogWord Networking Party sponsored by Better Home and Gardens Real Estate to see our friends @BHGRE_Wendy and @BHGRE_Sherry. It was too bad we couldn’t stay for the entire event but we had some classes to teach.
A great question was asked at one of the events in Las Vegas. When embedding flash media such as YouTube videos, SlideShare presentations, Flickr slideshows, or Box.net widgets, what happens if the viewer does not have flash installed? Flash has become a prominent feature of the internet and is estimated to be installed in 95% of computers. However, you don’t want the 5% to miss out on your content.
There are many ways to handle computers that do not have flash installed but the simplest is to always include a link to the page that contains the media that you want to embed. This way, users without flash will have a way to find your content. For example, those of you with flash will see slideshows below. Those of you without flash will only see a link that you can click to see the show on an external page.
