I recently facilitated an exercise where volunteer leaders were to complete an online form to share the value of membership in their organization.
What was surprising was how incomplete the answers were.

I thought to myself if these dedicated volunteers were not able to articulate the value proposition, much work needed to be done to reinforce the messaging many already believe.
In my active participation in several non-profits over the years I have helped create and market value propositions to members. I have been hired as a copywriter but I needed a faster way to gather some substance. If I were going to create a list of 100, it would have taken me about a week to type each reason for the first draft.
Instead, I used ChatGPT.

While ChatGPT isn’t always accurate, you can assume its best practice to review each one with critical thinking skills to edit each one so they hit the mark.
The reasons from ChatGPT look pretty solid however plain text isn’t as sexy.
The next step is to create a presentation slide deck, document, and social media graphics to reinforce this messaging if we want to help make it stick and provide others with content they can share specific content instead of the entire deck.
Create a CSV file from the list
Now that you have the list of reasons, copy and paste them into Google Sheet spreadsheet. But before you can do that you need to remove the number from the list if you want to highlight the number for each page instead of side by side with a bullet point.
Try using this spreadsheet to save time.
Then export the .csv file you will need to upload into Canva.
Create a Template in Canva
There are plenty of templates to help you get started in Canva to help you design your content. Use this template to save you some time.
Mail Merge Spreadsheet to Canva
In Canva, there are apps that allow you more functionality than traditional design software. One of them is Bulk Create found on the left sidebar. Note, you need to have a template that supports Bulk Create since not all of them do. Presentations are the best templates for this use case.
Once you click Bulk Create, you will be prompted to upload your .csv file.
Canva will recognize the field types and it’s your responsibility to connect each text input to the corresponding column in the spreadsheet.
Once you click Generate pages, you can then edit the formatting just in case some text takes up too much space and needs to be resized or you need to reformat the template to avoid changing each page significantly (like you had to do in the past).
